Government should investigate Imam Fatty whether he has committed any offense during Jammeh’s authoritarian rule.
He was a former close aide to the dictator, who many Gambians believed is behind the arrest of Sheikhs and Sheriffs in the Gambia including the arrest and subsequent jailing of Imam Baba Leigh and Ba Kawsu Fofana. Gambians are not happy with him and there are strong calls among Gambians for his deportation saying he is not a Gambian. Imam is just trying to capitalize on the new found democracy to anger Gambians and spread his hatred and reckless statements that continue to anger Gambians.
