Security has been beefed up at the Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation this morning. Striking staffers are being asked to show their work ID before they would be allowed access to the building. Staffers have complied with the police intervention unit’s demands in order to have access to the building.
“There is growing tension, and no one knows where this going to end. No one knows,” one insider told this medium.
SSHFC staffers have embarked on a sit-down strike. They have petitioned President Adama Barrow, insisting that they will not resume work unless their demands are met. They want MD Manjang to be removed, and their fired staff Rep Momodou Camara to be reinstated.
