For the first time since assuming office, President Barrow presided over the Airport security stakeholders meeting amidst growing concern over aviation safety due to bird strike at the Banjul International Airport.
The committee, which is often chaired by the Minister of Tourism, was convened by the President to highlight the great importance he attaches to the safety and security of airlines and passengers that come through the airport.
The high-level gathering followed security concerns raised by aviation partners of The Gambia over frequent bird strikes, among other things.
