H.E President Adama Barrow presided over the swearing-in of the newly appointed Vice President, and Ministers of his Cabinet. After taking the prescribed Oaths of Office, Allegiance, and Secrecy, the President congratulated all the appointees and reminded them of the need to work for the positive transformation and development of the country:
”We have to ensure that we leave behind a legacy of strong and sustainable institutions, effective laws and the right procedures that will transform our country into a fully-fledged democracy and facilitate social, economic and political development for our people.”
Vice President A.N.M. Ousainou Darboe spoke on behalf of the new appointees and assured the President of their commitment and loyalty:
”I shall be by your side to deliver The Gambia you desire”
Also sworn-in were the new Government Spokesperson and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture.
