The incident has been described as a serious diplomatic blow, being the first of its kind in the history of our diplomacy.

A source who spoke to our reporter on the condition of anonymity said the Welfare Protocol Officer one Bakary Jarju used one of the embassy’s vehicles and went out for an errant.

“When he returned, Ambassador Jammeh asked why he used the vehicle and Mr. Jarju told him not to complain because he (ambassador) has his personal vehicle.”
