Gambia: Jah Oil Petrol Station In Brikama Got Robbed!
The Jah oil gas station in Brikama got robbed in the early hours of Monday, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. The armed robber fled with an unspecified amount of cash. It is reported that the robber was able to flee with over one million dalasis. The alleged robbery occurred on Monday at 9 AM Gambian time. The robber was armed with AK 47 riffle.
The pump clerk refused to surrender the money in her safe, when confronted by the robber, who was ridding on a motorbike. Sounds of warning gunshots were heard at gas station, prompting the sales clerk to surrender the money she has in her possession.
The robber left his motorbike behind. He immediately fled the scene of the crime. He is currently pursued by Gambia’s law enforcement agents.
Jah Oil is owned by Hamidou Jah. Mr. Jah was contacted for comment by the Freedom Newspaper, but he declined to speak to us. As soon as this Editor identified himself to him, Hamidou hung up the phone.
The police spokesman could not be reached for comment at press time.
